I couldn't resist

I couldn't resist putting this question in. Its not a question I'm proud of. The person on the left is specific, and you probably wouldn't have seen him wearing that outfit very often. The person on the right is generic. Connect the two.

Ans : I apologize if you find this question terrible. The person on the left is Jermaine Jackson (Michael Jackson's brother, and the runner up when Shilpa Shetty won Big Brother). The connect I was alluding to is the worst name a celebrity could give to a child. Frank Zappa named his children Dweezil, Moon Unit, while Bob Geldof named his daughters Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof and Little Pixie Geldof. Jermaine Jackson named his son Jermajesty. (Get it?)

Guess the movie

So I aint a huge movie buff. But when I saw this particular film, there was this one (slightly ridiculous and improbable) scene that I clearly remember. A few years later, I came across this poster, which poked fun at this particular scene. Which movie?

Ans : The answer is Die Hard, and this scene is so ridiculous, you have to see it for yourself. John Mcclane walks on glass barefoot. Awesome movie otherwise, though. Aditya and Kalyan Krishna (Buzz) get it right.

Do the math

No additional clue will be given

Aditya.S cracks it.

Ans: The first blank is 'Google+', while the other two are 'Facebook'.

Who's Missing?

So, the question mark represents the most famous of the bunch. Who's missing?

Ans : Well, all of the above represent Jeff Dunham's characters. The one important missing character is Achmed the dead terrorist. Sivasankar Menon and Thejas Balaraman get it right. (Both on buzz).

You're Lucky

You're lucky because its two questions in one day (coz I'm busy tomorrow).

You see two stills from a TV show. Identify the TV show and the actor. (It is the same person in both stills, and I have highlighted him in red because the still is rather fuzzy).

Ans : John McEnroe it is. The show is 30 rock. The two Adityas get it right.

From a solitary blog post

This one is a toughie. It is from a solitary blog post that probably does not exist anymore.

The post seems to be a parody of incidents that have shaken up the world in 2011. This photo accompanied the post. Identify the "incidents" and the country whose flag is being parodied in the photograph.

Edit : In order to make the question slightly easier, I have decided to give a clue. The country in question is a fictional one. So, you are one good wiki search away from the answer.

Ans : Okay. Noone gets this one. The "incidents" are indeed the political protests that have hit the Arab world. The fictional country parodied here is the Emirate of Khemed, which figures in a few Tintin adventures. It is an Arabic country that is always in the throes of a revolution. The flag is the flag of Khemed. You might remember Emir ben Kalish Ezab and his son Abdullah. Anyway, noone got it right.

Oopsy

This graph sorta looks like my grade sheet after the 2nd year. Which company's share price does this graph depict?

Akshay Walia is the only one to get this right. Its not News Corp, its BSkyB, who's share value went down a cliff after phone tapping allegations hit News Of The World.

Slightly addicted to posting blog questions

Dont use google for this one. I work at HP Labs, so while digging up some company history, I found that in the 1960s, HP spun off a small company called Dynac, which specialized in producing digital equipment, and was later absorbed back by HP itself. The name Dynac would probably have stood for "Dynamics" or "Dynamic Electronics" or something of that sort, but what was the other MAJOR reason why this name was chosen?

Well, the answer is that when you turn the "hp" logo upside down, you get "dy" for Dynac. Anand Shankar, Joshan and Phanindra (on buzz) get this right.
