This place achieved international fame in 22-7-09 and its name is phonetically similart to the hindi for 'counting of stars'. It was where Bhaskaracharya set up a camp to study the movement of stars, which is a strange coincidence since this was the best place to view an event, which was calculated to be the longest in this century.
