91. Connect

Identify and connect the pictures.

The connect is Ku Klux Klan.

The first pic is of Nathan Bedford Forrest, who was a member [and allegedly the Grand Wizard] of the KKK.

The Adventure of the Five Orange Pips is centred around the KKK.

Forrest Gump reveals in the opening scenes, that he has been named after Nathan Forrest.

Kudos to Shridhar, who got the 3rd connection.

Credit to Nidheeshwar and Rahul for getting the connect right.

(Click on picture for more clarity)

Answer:
The connect is Mars, Inc.
The pic has 5 pics of Mars, Inc. products: Bounty (the movie poster), Mars (the planet), Pedigree, Skittles and Milky Way.

Cracked by none, thought I would love to know how Amoureux and Tanaya both came up with Star Wars.

Pretty Easy Connect...

OK, this one's pretty easy. Connect the three.

No answers? The connect is actually The World Bank. The woman in the first pic is Shaha Riza, whose notorious affair with Paul Wolfowitz led to the latter's resignation as World Bank Head. The building is the Mt Washington Hotel at Bretton Woods, where the conference to institute the Bank was held after World War II (The recent G-20 meeting is known as Bretton Woods II). The last pic is of Robert Zoellick, the current Head.

A totally arbit connect...

Just a hint... For the painting of the woman, think Hamlet.
Please don't kill me for posting this question

I posted the answer days ago, but it seems not to have uploaded.
The connect is George W. Bush's pets...
  1. The painting is of Ophelia, as all the comments have pointed out. Ofelia is Dubya's cow, who he keeps in his Crawford ranch.
  2. Barney is his Scottish terrier.
  3. India "Willie" is his cat.
  4. Mrs Beazley is his other Scottish terrier (sorry, but you just can't get pics of the chef from Riverdale High any more, and the only other I know of is a character in America by Franz Kafka)
  5. Spot Fetcher is his English Springer Spaniel, and the other second generation presidential animal in the White House (His mom lived there during Big George's term)
Almost completely cracked by qwerty (he said pets), but I suspect that has something to do with the fact that he was sitting next to me when I posted and that I had told him the answer. A good attempt by Stryker, but Barney is a dinosaur, not a crocodile. And when I mean arbit, I don't mean quotes from Shakespeare.

Beating The Trap

Continuing with the sports flavour, here's a set on the world's favorite sport. Enjoy !!

1. He was originally nicknamed Dico. A prolific goalscorer, he is the leading goalscorer for his country in international matches. According to him, the most beautiful goal that he had ever scored was in a match against Juventus (sadly no footage of that goal exists). Incidentally, he is also the first sports personality to be featured in a video game. He holds the record for the most career titles won( he won 32 ) . Identify this very iconic footballer.

2. Identify this footballer.
3. He was named as one of the 125 greatest football players still alive in 2004. He played most of his football outside of his home country, representing clubs such as AS Monaco, Saint-Etienne and Montpellier among others. He came out of retirement and almost single-handedly led his country to its best performance in World cup history in 1990. His claim to fame, however, is a goal that he scored against Russia. Name the footballer described.

Connect the above 3 footballers.

ANSWERS

1. Pele
2. Franz Beckenbauer
3. Roger Milla

The connect is Mohun Bagan. Pele was a part of the New York Cosmos team which played against MB in 1977. Roger Milla came to India with Diamont Club in 1990 to play against Bagan as part of their centenary celebrations. Beckenbauer is synonymous with Bayern Munich which came here recently to play against Bagan.

Decent response to the set. Almost all cracked the questions but failed at the connect part. Questions cracked correctly by Lord labak das, immigrant (interesting connect i must say) , E.T. and Ajay.

Answer- Rubin Carter, who was imprisoned(debate still raging on whether he is innocent or guilty) for two murders and Bob Dylan wrote the song 'Hurricane' to protest what he believed was the false conviction of Rubin Carter and Denzel Washington played the role of Carter in the movie 'Hurricane'

Cracked by Sridhar, Lakshmy and Lord Labak Das(didnt give the Denzel Washington connect though)
